Trip Planning Checklist

Passport                                                      6 months in advance

Vaccinations                                               6 months in advance

Applications in for each member of team  As soon as a person shows interest in coming to serve with us (minimum 2 months)

Airline tickets                                             2+ months in advance
Email us your flight itinerary                  2+ months in advance
Money for trip and materials fee              Send to Family Church 30 days in advance or bring down in cash.
Make 2 color copies of Passport - give one to family member and one in your carry on luggage  
Write down address in Shell to have on the plane for the customs forms
Read and print out planning information sheet and map of Shell

Weigh packed baggage - under 50lbs for each checked piece, 1 carry on up to 18lbs and one purse or backpack for most airlines

Pack backpack or purse with passport, another photo ID, Shell address, pen, tissues, Purell wipes, medications needed, sunglasses for in Quito, one stateside check, cash for transportation, food, housing, etc (no travelers checks or money orders)

 

For Money: You will need to bring small bills (under $20 - $5s and $1s are best) for using in town. You can bring larger bills to pay for your bus transportation to and from Shell (up to $290 each way) in exact change and for your housing which is paid the day you check out.
